GINGIVITIS

Plaque builds up constantly on your teeth from the moment you last cleaned them.  Luckily small deposits of fresh plaque do not cause irritation. If you brush thoroughly twice a day you may not develop any gum disease.

However, in our experience the vast majority of our population do suffer.

The first stage of gum disease, chronic irritation, leads to reversible swelling and bleeding of the gums called gingivitis.

To help you in your daily oral hygiene routine a regular scale and polish with a hygienist will reduce the levels of old plaque thus creating a healthier oral environment and reducing the levels of disease.
